The findings of similarities between Korean celebrities and World Cup soccer player attracted a lot of attention from netizens.
In the morning of the 29th, an online picture hosting site released pictures of singers and soccer players that simply look similar but have no relations with each other, regardless of gender and age.
The pictures of JYJ’s Park Yoochun (25) and Korean World Cup soccer player Ki Hoon Yeom (28) were very similar, thus attracted the attention of netizens.
Netizens commented with responses such as “They are really alike”, “Very similar, this is very interesting!”
Korean celebrities exhibit their social media power yet again through the recently concluded “3rd Annual Shorty Awards”. Hailed as the “Oscars of Twitter”, the “Shorty Awards” recognizes people and organizations who are producing the best “short-form, real-time social media content”. Nominations were made through Twitter while winners were determined using a combination of popular vote and deliberations by the members of the Real-Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences.
Several Korean celebrities won accolades for their use of Twitter. The biggest winner is JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong who won the “Celebrity” category beating out Canadian superstar Justin Bieber and Super Junior’s Heechul. Other Korean stars were nominated for this category including Jay Park (6th), JYJ’s Yoochun (10th), JYJ’s Junsu (11th), and Super Junior’s Leeteuk (24th), Eunhyuk (39th), and Donghae (47th).
In the “Actor” category, the boys of JYJ including Yoochun (9th), Jaejoong (12th), and Junsu (26th) exhibited their Twitter popularity once again by ranking higher than other Korean celebrities including worldwide superstar Rain (50th), Donghae (28th) and Heechul (29th). Korean stars also figured well in categories such as “Music”, “Entertainment”, and “Fashion”.
Perhaps the most meaningful mention of a Korean celebrity in the “Shorty Awards” is that pertaining to Jay Park who was nominated for the Nokia-sponsored “Connecting People” award. This special award is given “to a person who is genuinely bringing people together through Twitter and social media.” The nominees were judged based on the impact they had on their communities and how they used creative ways to connect people. Jay Park, a former member of popular K-Pop idol group 2PM, was nominated. Describing the way he uses Twitter to connect people, the organizers expressed that:
“He uses Twitter to communicate with fans in English and Korean, and inspires fans to volunteer and donate to good causes. Park received more nominations for this award than any other finalist. One voter wrote, “We not only support Mr. Park but also lend out a helping hand in improving the society around each of our communities in attempts to follow in Mr. Park’s footsteps in spreading love and respect, a motto he lives by.”

Recently, an online forum displayed a picture of JYJ member Park Yoochun and TVXQ member U-Know Yunho standing side by side, attracting a lot of attention.
The photo shows the respective singers’ clothing endorsement advertisements fitted according to the elevator doors. The two blown up ads standing in line with only a wall as a barrier created a very interesting atmosphere for people walking by.

I let you know some details regarding to the cancellation of Indonesia concert.
As Cjes Entertainment(hereafter Cjes) announced previously, DCI, Indonesian promoter did not fulfill the article of the contract we made several times.
DCI kept missing the deposit payment dates and showed inexperienced attitude on process of preparing the concert. Cjes visited Indonesia trying to solve this problem with extra fee but Indonesian Promoter seemed not to be ready to organise the concert. Followingly, Cjes decided not to keep this which will be apparently finalised with mess.
Knowing how fans in Indonesia are in pain and sadness, JYJ feels hurt and wants to say sorry for you. Please do understand this incident for both JYJ and you guys, JYJ’s lovely fans.

It’s been a while right? Recently I’ve been filming a drama in Korea so I haven’t been to Japan. I’ve been wanting to do performances and concerts in Japan too, but these days there have been a lot of activities to do in Korea. I’ve been hearing a lot that everyone has been giving a lot of their love to this drama, thank you very much. I’ll continue to work harder, please continue to give your support.
On night of the 14th, meet with Yoochun’s mom, and gave her Yoochun’s gifts. His mom is very kind, very caring for us, asked us a lot of things about baidutuvxq and chinese fans, also talked about how our boys’ thoughts of wanting to go to China again to see everyone, we also hope we can soon see our boys in China. Yoochun’s mom also mentioned after last time’s Shanghai showcase, Yoochun brought home a charity certificate, his mom says Yoochun really treasure it, and purposely showed everyone. We told his mom it’s almost baidutvxq’s 7th anniversary, when his mom complimented us on doing so well even with all the obstacles, we wanted to cry T T. A few days later when we contacted his mom again, she told us Yoochun has been wearing the shoes we gave him as gift for the past few days. It made us really happy.
On the afternoon of the 17th, we meet with Junsu’s mom and chatted a lot with her, his mom is really talkative, and is very kind to us, always smiling with sense of familiarity, and was also very appreciative of Chinese Fans’ support to the boys. We talked with her about the things Chinese fans done for the boys, and told her about the flashmob from last year. When she saw our fan made DVD and Cassiotic’s self recorded CD, she gave a lot of compliments. When we showed her the gifts we prepared for Junsu, his mom said fans really thought carefully, from health to cloth to accessories, everything is well thought of. She said the cloth is Junsu’s style and he will definitely like it. Then we met Junsu’s dad who came to pick Junsu’s mom up to watch Junsu’s musical together, to not delay their schedule, we chatted a little and hugged before parting.
On the night of the 17th, we meet with Jaejoong’s sixth sister, she had a cold but still welcomed us. His sister was really funny, always joking with us, we felt no distance from her, it was very nice. When we gave her Jaejoong’s gifts, she was worried that the measurements are off, because Jaejoong gained a lot of weight recently because of his appetite had been really good ^ ^, but luckily after seeing the clothes, the measurements still fit Jaejoong. She also said, we really are fans, we know what kind of style Jaejoong likes. She said Jaejoong is really busy lately because of the concert, so can’t see him often, but she would try to give our gifts to him as soon as she can, we are really grateful for her for being so considerate T T. Because she wasn’t feeling well, we didn’t want to bother her, we are really thankful for welcoming us so late at night.
There had always been a couple of ways to give the gifts to Yunho and Changmin. We considered giving it to them at fansigning, but because there is a lot of items, we want to make sure they receive all the gifts and feel the love from Chinese fans. We decided to give it to their parents Because Yunho’s parents are not in Seoul, and because of our time and schedule in Korea, we couldn’t give it to them personally, so we decided to give both Yunho and Changmin’s gifts to Changmin’s mom. If time allows, we hope next time we can visit Yunho’s mom and dad.
On the night of the 26th, we meet with Changmin’s mom, but we didn’t think his dad would show up as well. His dad was very open and enthusiastic, and have deep understanding for Chinese culture. This is our second time meeting Changmin’s parents, very grateful that they still remember us, also grateful for their care and concern for us. We told them about our situation, told her about today is baidutvxq’s 7th anniversary, his mom said Chinese fans are very amazing, even thought we can’t see our boys often, but we can still support them so firmly. Dear Fans who have been waiting for Worldwide Tour - Indonesia,
This is the official announcement of Worldwide Tour - Indonesia’s cancellation.
Last Saturday, 26th March, we informed Indonesian promoter about the cancellation officially.
We warned Indonesian promoter several times about their non-fulfillment of the contract.
However, they kept breaching the articles in contract so that JYJ has no choice but cancellation because we cannot find any smooth progress for the concert preparation.
We tried our best not to cancel the show for many fans waited for JYJ but there are too many factors which could possibly make JYJ’s impression bad.
JYJ feel so sorry that they cannot meet Indonesian fans this time.
We do know that there are rumors about Singapore concert.
We are on process of changing promoter there and negotiation in Singapore at the moment.
Please be patient for our official announcement for Singapore concert.
Indonesia is the only place that has been cancelled so far, and we will let you know about changing or adding places to go for.

Group JYJ (Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu) have chosen 'Creative challenge' as the concept for their 'JYJ World Tour Concert in 2011' that begins in Bangkok on April 2nd and are currently preparing for their first performance.
CEO Baek Chang Joo of C-JeS Entertainment stated, "With ten days left till the beginning of their world tour that spans across nine cities around the world, the members of JYJ are currently working on perfecting their performances by putting the finishing touches on new pieces and practicing choreography," and "It will be a large-scale project with a performance comprised of 23 songs."
The 'JYJ World Tour Concert in 2011' has become a hot topic as Kim Jaejoong has stepped up to act as the director.
Since last month, Kim Jaejoong has been holding meetings with lighting, sound, stage and video staff and conferences with choreographers, stylists and props staff in order to discuss the details of the concert.
Under the concept 'creative challenge', he has been engrossed in his work to create a concert where the members are able to approach the fans at a closer distance and communicate with them.
Kim Jaejoong looked determined as he said, "I want to provide fans who love JYJ's music with an electrifying experience that lasts 120 minutes. I chose such a concept to show that our grand voyage of a world tour will continue on regardless of any change around us," and "We will use the cross-shaped stage to its maximum potential to be closer with the audience, and we'll create an enthralling performance where each song has a special element of direction that all comes together at the end."
JYJ will add four new songs to their world tour. Most of the performance will be comprised of songs the members themselves have composed and written lyrics for, including all the songs in their 'JYJ Music Essay', and the concert plans to showcase JYJ as Asia's representative performance-based singer-song writers.
The 'JYJ World Tour Concert in 2011' will begin in Bangkok, Thailand on the 2nd of April and will go across Asia to the US and Canada, and will hold its finale in Korea.
I’ve been getting great feedback with this whole Q&A thing. So without further ado, here is another round of questions about my experience as the JYJ MC for their US TOUR back in November 2010. Enjoy!
Q: @katsumeat asks: What was your first impression on jyj? whatis your favorite jyj songs from the showcase?
A: I was going over some things with the concert director when JYJ walked into the room. They were wearing black robe outfits and they didn’t walk, they glided into the room. My first thought was “Damn these guys are skinny…really skinny…and pretty…really pretty…and Junsu’s hair is red…really red” They were very polite, we said hello and they were off to do magazine interviews. I got to know them a little better as the tour went on. My favorite song from the showcase was the EMPTY remix. High energy, cool track, really got the crowd jumping up and down while confetti shot into the sky. Great ending song for the concert.
Q: @heartbeatheaven asks: Is it ever awkward to be around Jaejoong since he’s so attractive? (if I were a straight man I’d STILL be turned on…)
A: Very interesting question HAHA. No, there were never any awkward moments being around Jaejoong. Although there was this one time when I met Daniel Henney at an awards gala. For some reason his shirt tucked in but unbuttoned all the way down to his belt. We were talking about some stuff..and all I could think was “Damn, this guy is good looking…” Uh yeah…back to the questions.
Q: @randi_x asks: Were any of the members drunk/tip edge of tipsy? If so, what are they really like.
A: We went out in Vegas, and yes there was alcohol involved. Junsu didn’t drink much, so he didn’t get drunk. Jaejoong and Micky had a few drinks, or two, or three…and if they got drunk I couldn’t tell. So sorry, no drunken sloppy stories to share. Although I got drunk and started making out with a lamp JK
Q: Anonymous asks: Shane! 1st of all thanks for this Q&A session :) Oh yea my question… Did JYJ ever talk about their fans when you guys were hanging out and what was it about?
A: They love their fans, but they do admit that sometimes it goes a little too far. Like the whole situation with fans waiting outside their houses, kinda scary. To my understanding the netizens of Korea can be scary. I heard everything that happened to Tablo from Epik High. That kind of stuff is the ugly side of fame that comes with the territory.
Q: niickerzz asks: LOL but how did Jaejoong smell like..? new fresh t-shirt? aha~
A: What the? He smelled like a Korean pop star, duh!
Q: Anonymous asks: Were you blown away by jyj’s performances?
A: Actually I was very impressed. It’s one thing to be a good singer, but to dance AND sing well at the same time is pretty hard. I actually attempted this at the LA showcase, and I couldn’t even perform 4 lines…the whole time I was thinking “Don’t fall off the lift…or YOU WILL DIE! Oh yeah I’m supposed to be singing…Girl I swear~” My singing was horrible, but at least I didn’t fall off the lift.
Q: Anonymous asks: How long as your umma(mom) been a fan of JYJ?
A: She claims that she only became a fan when she heard that I was going to be the MC for their tour, but she seemed to know everything about them. Especially Yoochun. So I’m a little suspicious about her being a new fan.
Q: @aliyah_taylor asks: How does JYJ feel about their American fans?
A: Like I said before, they love all their fans. And since it was their first time in America on tour, I think they were even more grateful for everyone who came out to the US Tour. For me personally, I was amazed at the diversity in the fans who showed up to the shows. Honestly I was expecting all their fans to be screaming Asian girls, but when I showed up in NY and saw that the screaming girls were from all races, that was cool.
Q: @UmaChanxo asks: What does JYJ think of Fanboys? Have you ever asked or met one? A good friend of mine is a fanboy ahahaha xD
A: Not sure what JYJ thinks of Fanboys specifically, but I’m sure they don’t mind since a fan is a fan, no matter if they’re a girl or a guy. I actually met a few Fanboys in New York. There was one guy in line who was an aspiring rapper, I made him freestyle about the concert and JYJ and he was pretty good! I feel like the guys who went to these showcases were pretty damn smart. Think about it…you go to this concert with 1000s of other girls who are essentially in “heat” for JYJ. After the show, they’re pumped up, obviously they want more JYJ but can’t have it, they turn around and there you are - single guy, fan of JYJ, and looking for love. Brilliant!
Q: @remonbrossom asks: I know you want to join JYJ! don’t lie! could be like “JYJ’S” ..LOL xD..but really, would you join if they asked you to? =P
A: I’m not gonna lie, in my younger days I would have loved to have been a part of a K-pop group. I’m more of a rapper than a singer, so I would probably fit great with JYJ. But at the end of the day I don’t think I would be handle the extreme image consciousness that Korean entertainers need to possess. If I was a part of JYJS, I don’t think I would be able to make a video like “D*** So Big” And I don’t know if I want to be a part of something that doesn’t let me fulfill my crazy ideas as an entertainer.
Q: @minnamoi asks: Thanks for answering those interesting questions :) i know MANY fans wanna know this one. did they mention Yunho or Changmin??
A: Sorry, they didn’t mention them at all to me. To my understanding the whole situation was a little sensitive to them, so I didn’t bother bringing it up. It seems like an unfortunate thing and I hope there is some resolve, at least for the sake of their friendships.
Q: @mellejk asks: Th more I read JYJ’s tweets th more it sinks in tht they’r normal guys just doin ther job. Is tht bad? Stil wana meet thm tho lol
A: First of all, you must be a professional tweeter. Look at those abbreviations to save characters! I would have never thought to shorten the word “the” to “th” This is what the constraint of 140 characters has done to our society HAHA. But going back to your question - Yes JYJ are pretty normal guys placed in an extraordinary situation. Again, from my brief time with them, I saw that they were very grounded hard working guys. Nothing really stuck up or arrogant about them. You should definitely still try to meet them…but please don’t wait outside their homes.
Q: Anonymous asks: Hi Shane! You were great MC for the JYJ concert! I liked the furry vest in LA. ^_^ Does Junsu really hum and sing all the time, regardless of where he is? And…you didn’t teach him any bad words, did you? keke
A: Yes, I noticed Junsu does love to hum and sing a lot. It’s like have a live version of the radio wherever we went. It was nice HAHA. I did give him one brief English lesson in Vegas. He asked me about the proper way to use the word “Yet.”
Junsu - Hyung, what’s the proper way to use “yet”
Shane - Oh it’s really easy. You use “yet” when you say you didn’t do something but you plan on doing it.
Junsu - ???
Shane - Like, “I didn’t shower, yet” Essentially that means you didn’t shower, but you plan on doing it some point.
Junsu - Oh, I got it. What about when you start the sentence with “yet”
Shane - Like “Yet, he was only a child?”
Junsu - Yeah.

Junsu - Oh…
Yeah, I’m a bad English teacher…and “yet” is a trick word to describe. But no, I didn’t teach them any bad words.
Q: mlyc asks: How was backstage before the first New York showcase? What did you guys do afterwards? Thanks Shane.
A: Being backstage before the NY show was nuts! We could hear the fans chanting, singing, and screaming. It was funny because every time the lights slightly changed or the music track changed, the crowd would go extra nuts thinking the show was about to start. Sorry, for the multiple fake outs, I think it’s a subliminal trick concert directors use to keep the energy alive. Honestly I was a little nervous, but once I got out on the stage and saw the madness, it actually made me feel more at ease. Afterwards, JYJ went to their rooms to rest and some of the crew went to grab a beer at a bar. Nothing crazy, since we had to leave for Vegas early the next day.
Q: @BuNiu asks: Have you DM’ed on twit with any of the members before? and will you check out their world con in la/sf/nyc when they come? :p
A: HAHA Yes, I have DM’d with Jaejoong a couple times. If they come to LA and I’m free that day I probably will check out the show to support them. They’re really good performers and it might be a little nostalgic to watch the show. Although I might get tempted to crash the stage and start MCing…I kid, I kid.

The 'Kim Junsu Musical Concert - Levay with Friends' DVD that released on the 14th has already sold over 40,000 copies in two weeks and has ranked #1 on various DVD sites.
Ever since reservations began early-March, the DVD ranked first on various online sites such as Interpark and Kyobobooks and has proven the power of Kim Junsu yet again.
The DVD has even ranked 3rd on the overall album and DVD sales, beating many popular singers (according to Yes24's weekly sales chart from the 14th~21st). The DVD also ranked 1st on the Japanese site HMV and is being shown great interest from all over Asia.

JJ: I’m a concert director for the first time in Thailand. I’m excited and feel that this is an important task for me.

JJ: At first, it was just an empty space when I saw it. I could imagine where the fans should be sitting – where they would want to sit and how close with me would they want to be. I tried to create a picture of everything from my experiences.
Female MC: As for JYJ, will there be other surprises or changes made [to the concert]?
JJ: Talking about surprises, my team has prepared 4 new songs. I guess these 4 new songs could be considered a surprise.
Female MC: Last but not least, please encourage JYJ fans to go to the concert, Jaejoong.
JJ: After the showcase, this is the first show that we’re going to produce by ourselves. We’re very proud of it and I think that it’s going to turn out well. I want to tell all the fans that I’m sorry to not have been able to see you guys more often. This time, I will be the one directing this concert, so that I can be closer [more intimate] with fans. I want to perform in the concert along side all the fans as well.
Female MC: Any last word you want to say to Thai fans, Jaejoong?
JJ: Even though your seating arrangement may be different – nearer or further away, we’re planning this concert in the hope that all the fans would be equally entertained. I want all the fans to come and see this concert – to be happy and have lots of fun with it. We’re also going to try as hard as we can.
Female MC: Mr. Kung, will you please say a few words to the fans who want to go and see this concert?
Kung: Like I’ve said before, this is a very special opportunity for Thai fans because Thailand is the starting-off country for the entire world tour concerts. We would be the first country to be able to see the concert that Jaejoong himself will be directing. He takes the time to comtemplate how he could please all the fans [of all areas in the concert]. He planned to walk everywhere [in the concert hall] to be as close with the fans as possible.

Starting April 2nd in Bangkok, JYJ will officially be launching their “JYJ World Tour Concert In 2011” under the concept, “Creative Challenge.”
Representatives of CJES Entertainment revealed, “As the date for their world tour in nine different cities draws near, the members of JYJ are currently finalizing their preparations with new songs. The concert will be large-scale and will feature 23 tracks in total.”
As previously reported, member Jaejoong is the director for this tour. Consequently, he’s busily working with lighting, sounds, stage, and video staff members, as well as attending meetings with choreographers and stylists to perfect the concert.
He commented, “I want to make the 120 minutes an exhilarating experience for our fans. Through our world tour, I want to show that we’re advancing and transforming, which is why we chose the concept of ‘creative challenge.’ We’ll be making use of the cross-shaped stage to get closer with the audience, and make sure to bring out the points of each of the songs in order to create an experience that fans will never want to take their eyes off of.”
The members composed four new songs specifically for the world tour, which will be performed alongside the tracks included in their music essay.
MBC’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “Ripley” (tentative working name) held its first script reading rehearsal on the 21st at MBC Dream Centre, with its cast members Kim Seung Woo, Lee Da Hae, Park Yoo Chun, Kang Hye Jung, Jang Yong and Kim Na-un etc meeting for the first time.
In the published photos, the four leads were seen holding to their scripts, wearing black clothings as though they had decided upon it together. On that day, Lee Da Hae, Park Yoo Chun and Kang Hye Jung etc were practicing their scripts seriously, showing their passion for this show.
The production team said, “The actors altogether wanted to film a high quality work and it can be seen from their passion while practicing the lines. It is very anticipating to see the drama which will be potrayed by them.”
“Ripley” is about two men who both fell in love with a woman who got caught in a trap of lies and end up in between the turmoil of love and destruction, eventually leading to reconciliation.
This drama will be broadcasted in the end of May after the finale of MBC’s “The Duo”.

Yes I like elephant. The very 1st time when I was asked what I liked about Thailand. I think ‘elephant’ is like Thai symbol so I just answered “Elephant” after that the fans started to give me lots of elephant presents.Then I’ve started to collect and really love the elephants. The reason why I’m wearing this pink wristband is because I’ve seen Thai fans wear it then I know the meaning that it’s for the king. When fans for other countries saw it, they started to wear it too but I don’t think they know the meaning of it, I’m glad they wear it anyway.

Group JYJ’s member Park Yuchun is on a plane to Japan for filming of MBC TV drama “Miss Ripley.”
Recently, Park Yuchun tweeted, “I will do a good job shooting. Please support Yukata, Song YuHyung! Ahja! Everyone please come see JYJ’s World Tour! And Japan, truly have strength!”
Yukata, Song Yuhyun is Yuchun’s character name in “Miss Ripley.” Yukata is his Japanese name, and Song Yuhyun is used as his Korean name. Yukata is the son of a president of a famous Japanese resort, and falls into a triangle-love with Jang Miri (Lee DaHae) and the hotel manager Jang Myunghoon (Kim Seungwoo).
Yukata learns true love through Jang Miri, but is a tragic character who falls in danger of ruin because of her. Lee DaHae, who is making her comeback after 1 year and 3 months after KBS 2TV drama “Chu-No,” has been cast as Jang Miri.
“Miss Ripley” is based off of Shin JungAh, who made news by forging her education history, and is about a woman (Jang Miri) with greedy desires who falls into a pit of lies, and the conflict and resolution that occurs between the two men (Yukata, Jang Myunghoon) who fall in love with her.
“Miss Ripley” starring Kim Seungwoo, Lee Dahae, Park Yuchun, and Kang Haejung, will air at the end of May after the drama “Jjak Pae.”
Group JYJ’s member Kim Junsu attracted a lot of attention boasting about his driver instinct.
Kim Junsu, on 22 March, at his own twitter mentioned, “It’s been a long time since I took the driver seat. ^^ I very much like to drive.” and even posted a picture along with it.

- One of the DJ asked whether JYJ fees are higher than 10 million. Mr. Kung, the organizer answers… it’s wayyy higher than that.
- The organizer is now negotiating for higher numbers of fans in fan meeting, might be around 300 fans (used to be 250).
- The organizer decided to hold JYJ concert because JYJ are highly demanded, having large fanbase, and extremely popular.

In this World Tour, JYJ will add 4 new songs to be showcased. While all songs from JYJ’s Music Essay are also filled in, the show is going to reveal mostly all self-written and composed songs of the members, in order to introduce JYJ as Asia’s leading artists with quality of singers-song writers.
The ‘JYJ World Tour Concert in 2011′ will begin the Asia Tour starting in Thailand on April 2nd, following to United States and Canada, and holds its spectacular finale stage in South Korea.
Previously at an online community bulletin board, the picture showing Kim Jaejoong directing concert stage for JYJ World Tour in Thailand was uploaded and attracted many attention.
In the picture, Kim Jaejoong who was spotted wearing comfortable clothes of jeans and white t-shirt, was meticulously checking the lighting spots and stage’s line movement.
Netizens who saw the picture commented, “Director Kim Jaejoong looks really cool,” “His figure of directing looks like a photoshoot. Is this a scene from a movie?”

The unit JYJ, made up of JaeJoong, YuChun, Junsu, expressed on the 22nd that they would be holding a charity event to support the people affected by the huge earthquake in Japan on June 7 at Yokohama Arena.
On the 16th, the 3 of them donated 600 million won through NGO World Vision and they will also donate part of their performance fees and proceeds from the Yokohama Event.
