KBS said, “It will be difficult for JYJ to partake in any non-individual activities until their lawsuit is over.”

This means that there will be close to no chance for JYJ to appear on KBS until their legal suit with SM Entertainment is over.

Meeting with Sports Seoul, a representative of KBS stated, “It will be difficult for JYJ to appear on KBS until the lawsuit with SM Entertainment is over.”

This statement came regarding the fact that JYJ were suddenly unable to perform at the ‘Jeju 7 Natural Wonders of the World Nomination KBS Special Program’ that was held on the 20th. JYJ were schedule to perform two songs for their stage but JYJ’s agency C-JeS Entertainment revealed on the 17th that, “We received a one-sided notification of cancellation four days before the performance.”

C-JeS Entertainment stated, “We received the statement ‘If JYJ perform, it might be impossible for the show to be aired.’” Therefore, an ‘external pressure’ controversy arose that KBS is blocking JYJ from appearing on broadcasted shows. As the representative stated that it will be hard for JYJ to appear on KBS until the end of the lawsuit, the external pressure rumor seems to be somewhat true.

This representative also added, “But JYJ are able to partake in individual activities on KBS,” and “Park Yoochun appeared in the drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’, didn’t he?”

However, there have been instances in which their individual activities have been restricted by KBS. Park Yoochun was chosen to appear on KBS 2TV’s ‘Kim Seung Woo’s On A Roll’ with actor Kim Kap Soo early this year but received a notification of cancellation the day before filming was to take place. The representative explained, “I’m sure it was JYJ who were asked to appear on the show, not just Park Yoochun alone.”

But when Sports Seoul contacted ‘Kim Seung Woo’s On A Roll’, the representative who answered the phone stated, “Park Yoochun was invited as he got to know Kim Kap Soo from ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’,” and “There was no reason for JYJ to appear together.”

JYJ’s fans have opened up a petition that calls for an official statement from KBS, KBS Jeju and the other sponsors in charge of the performance. They wish for these sponsors to give an exact reason and an official apology to JYJ.

KBS representatives recently explained the official reason behind the sudden cancellation of JYJ’s appearance on KBS’s ‘Jeju 7 New Wonders of World KBS Special Live‘ that left JYJ and its many fans upset and confused.

KBS officials told Sports  Korea, “Until the 3 members of JYJ finish their lawsuit with SM Entertainment, it will be difficult to appear on KBS.”

JYJ had planned to sing two songs on the stage, but on July 17th JYJ’s agency, C-JeS received notification that their appearance was canceled just 4 days before their scheduled performance.  C-JeS also received notification that, “If JYJ makes an appearance, the broadcast itself is impossible“, raising concerns of the possibility of ‘backdoor pressure‘.

However, the representative stated, “The personal activities of the members of JYJ are possible. For example, Park Yoochun’s appearance on KBS’s ‘Sugkyunkwan Scandal‘ happened.”  But past events still point to the fact that KBS has also obstructed their personal activities.

For example, Park Yoochun was invited as the ‘unknown guest star’ by actor Kim Kap Soo on KBS’s ‘Kim Seung Woo is Doing Just Fine‘ due to their close relationship on ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’.  However, one day before the recording, it was reported there was a misfire.  As a result, Yoochun was not allowed to appear on the program.

A representative explained, “That day Park Yoochun was not alone, because it was more for publicity for JYJ.” Another representative told Sports Korea, “Park Yoochun was invited by his co-star in ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’, Kim Kap Soo. There was no reason for JYJ to appear.”

Meanwhile, on July 19th, JYJ fans began a signature campaign asking for both an apology and clear explanation for the cancellation of JYJ’s appearance.

JYJ’s Appointment as Jeju’s N7W Ambassadors On Front Page of Jeju’s Local Newspaper

JYJ’s appointment as the honorary ambassadors for Jeju’s bid to become one of the New 7 Wonders of the World has made the front page of the newspaper prevalent in Jeju– Hanra Ilbo. Translation follows.

The popular singer JYJ has been appointed as honorary ambassadors for the New 7 Wonders for Jeju. Jeju Special Self-Governing Province revealed on the 3rd that at the point in time in which the selection for the 7 Wonders has only 190 or so days left, in order to pull up the international recognition, they appointed JYJ as honorary ambassadors on the 15th of last month.

JYJ is a 3-man group consisting of Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, and Kim Junsu and are the former members of TVXQ which was a popular idol group that debuted in 2004. TVXQ which had JYJ as members has been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as having more than 800,000 official members (in their fan club) in 2008.

At this, attention is gathering to see whether (Jeju) can pull out a high participation in voting for Jeju by appointing JYJ as honorary ambassadors. Further, JYJ released its first album in October of last year and has formed a fandom with varied levels domestically and abroad.

The honorary ambassadors initiation ceremony is planned to be held after mutual negotiation with JYJ.

At the same time, currently the 7 Wonders of the World Selection Nationwide Commission and Jeju Island has until now appointed 35 famous domestic and foreign personalities as honorary ambassadors, including Park Jeesung, Hines Ward, Yoon Dohyun, and Kim Hyunjung.

JYJ selected as honorary ambassadors for the promotion of Jeju Island for “N7W”

On May 3rd, the members of JYJ were chosen as the honorary ambassadors for the international promotion of Jeju Island.

The island was recently nominated to be voted as one of the seven wonders of the world by New Seven Wonders. On behalf of the island, JYJ will be actively promoting internationally to raise awareness. The members were revealed to have been chosen for their influence and ability to attract and raise foreign votes for the island.

Depending on their world tour schedule, the boys will be attending an official appointment ceremony sometime soon.

Jeju Island has passed three rounds of preliminary judging since 2007, and has been named one of the 28 final nominations. Swiss’s N7W Foundation will be taking in text, phone, and internet votes until November 10th. Final results will be released on the 11th.
