CJeS to Set Up Japan Relief Fund to Help Japan Victims

Dear Friends,

I have GREAT news! CJES has announced that they will be setting up a Japan Relief Fund website soon!
This means that we can now work alongside with CJES and the JYJ boys! It would be much better to combine our relief efforts and try to raise as much relief money possible together.

Therefore we have decided to stop the Save the Children fundraiser so that we can all join together in donating to the CJES website. The website should be up soon so please be patient and wait for further announcements.

The $9229.00 (amount at the time of writing this letter) has ALREADY been sent to Japan and is helping them as we speak. So please cease temporarily your gracious giving and let’s all donate to the CJES and JYJ relief efforts.

Together we can make a HUGE difference in the lives of those affected. Thank you for your continued support! You guys are the best fans ever!!!

Sincerely,

With the message of, “Please cheer up!”, all the photos of the celebrities will be gathered and posted as a gallery. They have put their sincerity from their heart and soul into this, and with the power of this prayer we hope that people in Japan will be healed and be able to build their courage once again.

110316 Stars Joining Donation Rush

By Chung Ah-young

Singers and actors are eagerly joining the ongoing donation rush to help Japanese victims hit hard by the recent devastating earthquakes.

Actors Lee Byung-hun donated 700 million won and Ahn Jae-wook gave 100 million won to the Korean Red Cross.

“Lee thinks life is the most important thing among others. He hopes his donation helps many Japanese victims suffering from the natural disaster,” his agency BH Entertainment said.

“The natural disaster comes against human’s will but the power to overcome it depends on our strength and will. I hope there are no more victims,” Lee said in his homepage on March 13.

Lee gained huge popularity for numerous hit Korean television dramas such as “IRIS,” “All In” and “Beautiful Days” and films such as “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra,” “A Bittersweet Life” and “Joint Security Area.”

Ahn said, “My heart hurt when I think of how the Japanese victims are still fearful of the dangers of aftershocks and explosions of the nuclear complex facilities amid the increasing death toll and those who are missing. I was thinking about how to help them and I decided to give a donation to the Korean Red Cross to practically provide assistance.”

Ahn rose to stardom with “Star in My Heart” and then pursued a singing career releasing albums “Forever,” “Memories,” “Yesterday” and “Red in Ahn Jae-wook.”

The Korean Red Cross has operated a taskforce consisting of 40 staff members to help the Japanese victims from March 15.

Meanwhile, popular boy band JYJ consisting of Jun-su, Jae-jung and Yu-chun, former members of TVXQ, donated 600 million won to international relief agency World Vision. The donation will be used for the aid and reconstruction of the quake-stricken cities and to organize a shelter for child victims. The band will continue their relief efforts in the long term through world tour concerts to raise awareness of plight of Japanese victims.

The band will operate the SNS site (www.facebook.com/jyjworldtourconcert) to share supportive messages and hold donation programs in cooperation with World Vision and its fans from various countries.

Exclusive Interview With JYJ on Their Donation to Japan

[Earthquake in Eastern Japan] JYJ Donates 600 million KRW… With Fans around the World, “Take Heart, Japan”

[Joong Ang Ilbo, Reporter Jeong Kang Hyun]

Korean Wave Idol group JYJ donated 600 million KRW (approximately 600,000 USD) for the restoration of the damages from the large earthquakes in Eastern Japan. Junsu, Jaejoong, Yoochun (from left in the lecture) also sent their messages of their sorrowful hearts in Japanese on their home page.

The idol group JYJ, comprised of the former TVXQ members Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu, donated 600 million KRW to the international relief organization world Vision in relief funds for the damages due to the large earthquakes in Eastern Japan on the 16th. JYJ, who in their days as TVXQ had risen to be the top of all Korean Wave stars, are still enjoying a constant popularity in Japan after their reorganization into JYJ. On top of the donation, JYJ plan to also enthusiastically lead the effort to build awareness for the seriousness of the damages due to the Japan earthquakes through their 9-city World Tour that begins in Bangkok, Thailand in April 2nd.

They will also carry out a ‘Leave a supportive comment–“Take Heart, Japan”’Campaign on their World Tour SNS website (www.facebook.com/jyjworldtourconcert). They revealed with an interview with this newspaper (Donga) that: “Japan is a place that has fans who have loved us for a long time. The decision to give was only natural, there was no need to even (consciously) decide.”

————————————–

Q: Your feelings upon first learning of the news of the earthquakes of the 11th?

Junsu: I felt that something quite serious must have happened because during filming in Tokyo the lights and the windows severely shook.

Yoochun: Because it was the day that Junsu was to come back from Tokyo, above all things we confirmed Junsu’s safety first, and also contacted our friends in Japan.

Q: Reason for deciding to donate?

Jaejoong: Japan is a place with people who have supported us for a long time. The desire to give help to a place that is suffering from such a horrible disaster is (I believe) not just ours but the common belief of all people.

Q: It’s said that you worried a lot on whether to disclose the fact of your donation.

Junsu: Actually we wanted to donate anonymously. But we felt that if we revealed our desire for giving, more people may join us in our effort. Already I heard that fans of JYJ all around the world are giving with their hearts, and felt that if we joined directly we may be able to help (Japan) in a greater way (than otherwise).

Q: How will the donated funds be used?

Junsu: They will be used to provide emergency relief items to Sendai and Fukushima, the areas that suffered the most damages, and also be used for the restoration and the reconstruction of the cities and for the programs of children’s shelters. For the children’s shelters, there will be programs that can heal the hearts of the children who suffered shocks.

Q: The calm response by the Japanese is gathering a lot of attention.

Yoochun: I was moved by how the Japanese so calmly responded (to the situation) even though the shock they received from the unexpected disaster must have been severe.

Q: Words you would like to send to the Japanese Fans?

Jaejoong: I want to tell them that we are always sharing the sadness of their hearts with them. We wish that they will take heart soon and have hope. We will pray for the fast restoration, as if they are our family.

JYJ’s Heartfelt Message to Japanese Fans

Written Message:

From JYJ

Hello. This is JYJ.

We are not sure how to begin.

Due to an unexpected disaster, many in Japan are deep in sorrow and fear, and we know that among them are our dear fans, and our hearts very much ache. We pray for those people who passed away due to the earthquake on Friday and for the safety of those who are still missing.

We were moved by Japan’s calm response in the face of the terror of the disaster. We believe that the current disaster is not only the sadness of Japan but of all humankind. If we all have hope and courage, we believe that the clouds will soon disappear and the sun will shine again.

On the day of the earthquake, being in Tokyo, we were extremely shocked. Therefore, we are worried about the safety of the missing Japanese people and the Korean-Japanese. We are checking the bulletins of the press and are keeping watch (in trepidation). Please take heart despite the hardship. We, JYJ, are with you. We want to add to your strength.

We hope to meet with the Japanese fans soon. We wish to meet you all. And, we love you.

JYJ’s Junsu will return to Korea, fan meeting to proceed as planned

It was recently reported that a 8.9 magnitude earthquake shook Japan, causing a lot of destruction throughout the country which shut down almost all of the communication systems.

JYJ’s Junsu was one of the idols still residing in Japan, and a few hours ago he was able to tweet, “I have never ever felt this…today I felt major tremors” and “More than anything, I have to go tomorrow…Well, I’m not sure if I can get on a plane.”

However, C-JES Entertainment assured fans of the idol’s healthy condition and news about JYJ’s upcoming fan meeting by stating,
“We’re receiving a great amount of concern regarding JYJ member Junsu’s Japan schedule. Kim Junsu is currently safely waiting for the airport to open and is trying his best to attend the fan meeting. We are trying our best to let the staff in Japan allow for Junsu to enter Korea safe and sound.
We plan to cancel the fan meeting if Junsu cannot return to Korea. With regards to a cancellation, we will reveal it tomorrow based on the situation around 12PM noon. The staff has already completed the rehearsal and all preparations for the performance, so we will be following the situation closely.
If the plane has departed by 12PM noon tomorrow, we will continue by delaying the performance portion by 1 hour, and will proceed as previously planned. If that is not possible, we will give a refund and will have to reassess on what to do regarding the performance.
We’re so sorry for the sudden cause of worry to fans due to the occurrence of this terrible natural disaster.”
The company then released a second statement which reads,
“To all the fans whom are participating in the fan meeting: the JYJ fan meeting will proceed to take place on March 12th at 3pm without any disruptions.
When Kim Junsu boards the plane tonight, he will return to Korea and will immediately rest, in order to actively participate in the fan meeting tomorrow. We discussed this with Junsu, and have decided that the fan meeting will take place as planned.
Regarding the onsite ticket sales that we announced at around 6 initially, due to the fact that the cancellation of tickets did not take place today, we have decided that we will not sell JYJ fan meeting tickets onsite tomorrow.
Thank you.”
