110909 Protect the Boss Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong. Are They Really Enemies? Heart-Wrenching and Tender Scene.

Ji Sung gathered all eyes in revealing a distressed heart at the sight of his enemy-in-love Kim Jaejoong’s leaning on his shoulder.

On the SBS TV drama Protect the Boss that aired on the 8th, Ji Sung who could not hide his sorrowful heart while taking home Muwon who was intoxicated due to his wounds of losing his love.

Jihun and Muwon, who are successors to a chaebol estate and also cousins, are in the middle of a conflict of love over the secretary Eunsul. However, as Eunsul chose Jihun, Muwon had to endure deep wounds. He whose feelings for Eunsul was sincere expressed his ardent wish to Eunsul to remain friends at least, but the wounds of having his love declined was deep.

As such, Muwon drank with Nayun and became uncontrollably intoxicated. To dissuade him Jihun and Eunsul ran over. The person who came to take the intoxicated Muwon home was none other than Jihun. He gazed at Muwon, who had fallen asleep with his head softly on Jihun’s shoulder due to being intoxicated, with complicated feelings. Continuing, Jihun softly leaned his own head on the shoulder of Muwon whose head was leaning on his shoulder. Further, Jihun then said “I am sorry” with a gaze that shook and revealed his pained emotion for Muwon.

They are enemies who cannot give up Eunsul for the other, but it is that the weight of the time – since youth they had shared their lonely hearts in quarrelling and playing – could not be ignored. It is that this was a scene in which the relationship of Jihun and Muwon, who cannot hate each other genuinely despite fighting over love and over the right to control the corporation, was portrayed in a way that betrayed much meaning.

On the other hand, on this episode Kim Jaejoong sang a heartfelt song while missing Eunsul and Wang Jihye drew tender feelings and laughter with her comic tone-deaf acting and added to the interest of the drama.

110804 JYJ Kim Jaejoong’s acting debut passes the test – ‘I’m taking over 2011’

Domestic debut drama of Kim Jaejoong, ‘Protect the Boss’, has started airing on the 3rd.

The rating of first episode recorded 14.5% (according to AGB Nielsen, base on Metropolitan area). The drama succeeded to draw many warm responses and got No.1 Real-time Search Ranking right after it started airing. Many favorable comments, such as ‘I didn’t even notice the time passing’, ‘It was so funny that I laughed tears’, ‘Another rom-com hit was born’, were left in message boards and various portal sites.

Even the reporters who attended the press conference burst out laughing with their shoulders moving up and down while watching the preview video. After the press conference, good comments were circulated among them (the reporters), like ‘The drama comes out better than I thought’, ‘It shows signs of a hit’… Also, as expected, after its first broadcast, two hares were caught at once: good rating and favorable comments.

Among these (favorable comments), Kim Jaejoong who has his first challenge in domestic drama also got good response. Compared to a little humorous character ‘Cha JiHun (Jisung)’, Kim Jaejoong plays a perfect gentleman ‘Cha Muwon’ and showed an unbelievably stable acting debut.

Especially, after the lawsuit with his former management company, this is actually the first time he can appear in public TV and among JYJ members, he’s the last one to start individual activity. Therefore, Kim Jaejoong drew many hot attentions than ever.

At the press conference, the officials were amazed that he has received 6.56 tons of supporting rice from 28 countries, which was recorded the biggest donation ever. And before the broadcast, fans from many countries sent cheering messages to official twitter of the drama. His popularity was acknowledged as the “Prince of Asia”.

In order to meet the expectations of his fans, Kim Jaejoong has been steadily practicing acting for a long period of time. Fortunately, in the filming set, he was praised by Cha HwaYeon (who act as his mother in the drama) and other senior actors and of course, after the first broadcast, he also received passing mark from the viewers. In addition, throughout the interviews with 24 papers, he promoted his new drama and JYJ’s activities with honest and humble attitude. At the press conference, he also came up first to warmly greet the reporters, which looks like he has forgotten how big star he is for a moment.

Following his activities as a singer, an air of success also comes out from Kim Jaejoong as an actor. But it’s still not enough for him. Because he has an infinite possibilities to develop in the future. Not only his activities as an actor but his activities as a singer are also waiting for its turn. JYJ is expected to release a Korean album soon and their worldwide activities might start in the second half of year.

Kim Jaejoong said in a interview with TodayNews, “For now, I only think about the drama. But I still have the desire to sing. The most precious thing is that I can return to the stage.” From composing, writing lyrics to stage directing, his artist side is being well-exposed.

From the drama ‘Protect the Boss’ which started with two-digit rating to his activities as a singer, 2011 is the year that Kim Jaejoong gets busy than ever and he is spending a fruitful year. Fans and the public are pleasantly looking forward to where this man can takeoff to.

110804 First Park Yoochun, Now Kim Jaejoong, “JYJ Specializes In Acting As Managing Directors?”

T/N: To explain the roles that Song Yoo Hyun and Cha Mu Won play in their dramas, there isn’t really an english equivalent but assuming “Chairman” = the guy who runs the entire company, they are probably the “Managing Directors” , ranked below the Chairman but above the Department Heads)

Are JYJ all acting as chaebol managing directors?

In the first episode of SBS’s “Protect the Boss” aired on 3 August, Kim Jaejoong plays the role of Managing Director, and achieved success in term of national drama ratings.

In “Protect the Boss,” Kim Jaejoong plays the role of DN Group’s 2nd Division Planning Department Head cum Managing Director. His character Cha Mu Won is engaged in a rivalry with Cha Ji Hun, his cousin and eldest son of DN Group’s Chairman.

Cha Mu Won manages all the operations in the company in place of the troublemaker Cha Ji Hun, is both capable and handsome, the always gentlemanly “Prince of the Financial World.”

In 2007, Kim Jaejoong participated in the movie “Postman to Heaven” with Han Hyo Joo, and following his role in the Japanese Fuji TV drama “Sunao Ni Narenakute” last year, this is his first time acting in a Korean drama.

Kim Jaejoong, who is starring in his debut domestic drama, collaborated perfectly with Ji Sung, Choi Kang Hee and other actors, receiving positive comments from the netizens such as “excellent acting with his eyes” and “Just like a real 2nd generation chaebol.”

Before Kim Jaejoong, in the recently aired MBC drama “Miss Ripley,”Park Yoochun played the role of famous resorts group Mondo Group’s heir and Managing Director Song Yoo Hyun.

JYJ members are continually taking on the role of Managing Directors, earning comments from the netizens such as “They are professional “Managing Director” actors” and “Kim Junsu should play the role of Managing Director once” and other comments.

110803 “Protect the Boss” off to a Strong Start

The highly anticipated drama, Protect The Bossaired its first episode on Wednesday, August 3.

Starring Ji Sung, Choi Kanghee, Wang Jihye, and JYJ‘s Kim Jaejoong, Protect The Boss has already stirred up positive reviews and is expected to be just as big a hit as its predecessor, City Hunter.

Choi Kang Hee, whose character Noh Eunsol spends most of the first episode looking for employment, portrayed the direct and lovable personality of Eunsol with ease.

Actor Ji Sung was also praised for pulling off the stubborn, almost-psychotic role of Eunsol’s deliquent boss, Cha Jiheon, which earned him many laughs throughout the episode.

Netizens have commented that Protect The Boss is on their list of favorite dramas due to Choi Kang Hee and Ji Sung’s hilarous onscreen chemistry, as well as the comedic acting by veteran actor Park Youngkyu, who plays Jiheon’s “sort of abusive” father and CEO of the company. Comments included, “The actor’s solid acting made it even more enjoyable,” and “Seems like a hit drama has finally come out.”

Jaejoong, who is tackling his first major acting project for Korean television, gave a very comfortable performance (no awkwardness!) and viewers are looking forward to his rivalry with Ji Sung as well. Netizens remarked, “He’s better than I expected,” and “I was worried because he was cast opposite Ji Sung, but it looks like I was worried for nothing.”

Protect The Boss airs every Wednesday and Thursday night on SBS.

Protect the Boss Has an Excellent First Airing, Gathers Attention and Anticipation

This article is currently #1 on Nate, a popular portal site. The replies are, amazingly, very positive.

“Boss” First Airing. Ji Sung – Choi Kanghee Fit Each Other To a T. “Birth of a Drama That Creates Laughs”

The new SBS Wed-Thursday drama Protect the Boss, which Ji Sung, Choi Kanghee, Kim Jaejoong, and Wang Jihye leads, had its first airing. Its unique atmosphere full of mirth colored the TV screen.

In the first episode of Protect the Boss that aired on the 3rd, the clear characters of the leads were revealed and many the viewer have anticipations for the story from that point forward. In particular, the combination of the lead Ji Sung, Choi Kanghee, Kim Jaejoong and Park Younkyu, and Kim Hyungbum was enough to capture the eyes/attention of the viewer.

Ji Sung who has taken on the role of the delinquent boss Jihun, looks like a perfect man who is the son of a chaebol family and has the title of the director of the headquarters for C Group. But he gave laughs by showing that once you get to know him he does not do anything well and is mistake-ridden whatever he does. Ji Sung who had curled hair and repeatedly made mistakes made the viewers feel a special attraction towards him.

Choi Kanghee who also fought battles on all sides to become employed was also befitting of (her title) the queen of romantic company. The first scene in which she entered mushroom hair and did a round kick showed Eunsul’s character simply. In the first episode she kept being disappointed and became employed after much hardship but was even sexually harassed, to make the viewers feel sad for her.

Kim Jaejoong who is challenging himself to the drama scene for the first time showed a stable acting and made the viewers be filled with anticipation as to his brilliance to come.

At this, Park Youngkyu who took on the role of the CEO Cha, Jihun’s father, allowed the viewers to become even more absorbed through his unique and distinguished acting. Kim Hyungbum, the secretary to Jihun, also showed off a crazy presence and pulled his weight fairly. Ahn Naesang who made a special appearance also made an impression that could not be forgotten despite the short duration of the appearance.

The viewers who saw the first airing showed largely positive responses: “Its fun.” “Park Youngkyu is fun and Jisung is cute too.” “It’s just too funny.”

Whether Protect the Boss can catch the ratings and the fun is gathering attention.
