‘Gossip House’, OnStyle’s TV tabloid, released the results for the cheeky poll titled ‘The Male Star with the most Suspicious Face-off’.

In a survey about the nation’s most handsome male stars who have the most suspicious face-offs, who were chosen for looking different from their past selves, 545 netizens voted through the portal site Daum from the 11th to the 16th.

The 7 nominees for the survey were JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong, TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho, Jang Dong Gun, Jisung, Kim Hyun Joong, Jang Geun Seok and Lee Teuk.

The man to come in first place by a landslide was JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong with his sharp facial features. He received 57% (275 votes) of the total votes.

Netizens who chose him left comments such as, “He’s like a perfect sculpture now, such a handsome guy. But in old photos, he looks like the ordinary guy next door” and “I can’t find the stage presence that he has now in his old photos.”

Second place went to TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho with 13% (63 votes) of the votes. In the case of U-Know Yunho, who has had his teeth realigned, he looks like and gives off a feel of a completely different person since the treatment, leaving many with envious suspicions of his face-off.

One netizen stated, “You’d only become that handsome after such treatment if you had the basic good-looks to begin with. Though I don’t want to admit it, I’m jealous.”

Kim Hyun Joong(8%), Jisung(6%), Lee Teuk(6%) and Jang Dong Gun(5%) took 3rd~6th place respectively.

110527 JYJ’s Busan Concert Sells Out In Mere Minutes

Ticket reservations for JYJ(Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu)’s Busan Concert have ended in success.

The 16,000 seats of the ‘Busan Sajik Indoors Gymanisum’, reserved on June 11th and 12th for the ’2011 JYJ World Tour in Busan’ performances, were sold out in mere minutes since the opening of reservations at 8pm by Interpark.

Fans who were unable to get tickets for JYJ’s performance were seen sighing and voicing their misfortune. JYJ’s agency changed the date for ticket reservations numerous times, but fans had high expectations for the show nonetheless. This event proved once more just how popular JYJ is.

Fans who were unable to purchase tickets seemed to be in denial as they said, “How could the concert be sold out when the window wouldn’t even load ㅡㅡ The window should have at least loaded, geez”, “This makes me wonder if the Japanese really did buy seats in bulk ahead of everyone else and sold them at premium prices” and “The Sajik Gymnasium is so close to my house so I could have gone ㅜㅜ But I can’t because I couldn’t get tickets ㅜㅜ.”

On the 26th, JYJ’s agency released an official notice that stated, “We will postpone ticket reservations for a day due to certain circumstances related to the concert venue,” and “Director Jeri Slaughter has stated the need to change the seating arrangements so we ask for the understanding from fans.”

On the other hand, JYJ are said to have a Gwangju concert on the 26th of June and a Seoul concert(undecided) lined up.

Love, ambitions & lies in ‘Miss Ripley’

Liars are dominating the small screen in the Monday/Tuesday time slot. Gong A-jeong of “True Romance” on SBS is faking a marriage to defend her pride, while Lee So-yeong of “Baby-Faced Beauty” on KBS lies about her age to get a job.

Another impostor is joining the race for fake lives — actress Lee Da-hae stars as Jang Mi-ri in MBC’s new soap “Miss Ripley,” and this heroine is a woman of large caliber compared to other leading ladies.

Jang grew up in an orphanage and was adopted by a family in Japan. However, she had to survive on the streets before escaping to Korea. Life in Korea proves to be tough as well, as she finds employment difficult with just a high school degree, and she even gets sexually molested by an executive during a job interview.

Her breakthrough comes when she is hired at a top-class hotel after fabricating her academic record, making herself a graduate of the University of Tokyo. On her way up the social ladder, she takes advantage of two men in the hospitality business that fall for her.

As the title indicates, the drama is inspired by the Hollywood movie “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” a story of an underachiever who uses his talents to forge someone else’s life.

“I always thought it’d be better to be a fake somebody than a real nobody,” Ripley said in the movie and so does Jang in the drama.

Makers of the TV show vacillated between “Goodbye Miss Ripley” and “Ripley” in choosing the title but ruled out using the word “goodbye.” The director said there is a superstition about the word hindering the success of dramas.

Lee’s character is said to be have been inspired by Shin Jeong-ah, a former curator convicted for fabricating her academic credentials and embezzling funds. Lee said the role is a turning point in her acting career.

“I know she is a villain and unforgivable under common standards. However, I sympathized with her and want the viewers to understand why she made such extreme choices,” Lee said during a press event in Seoul on May 17.

“However, the motif is just a motif and Jang is not an onscreen version of Shin.”

The four principal actors of the drama are display distinct individualities.

“It is as if we’re at different points and finally meet at a crossroads. We are so dissimilar, but we create great harmony,” Lee said.

The two men that fall in love with Jang are played by veteran actor Kim Seung-woo and singer-turned-actor Park Yu-chun of JYJ.

Kim said he wanted to portray deep, profound love and was attracted to the drama for this reason. His character Jang Myeong-hun is the general manager of the hotel where Mi-ri works.

“He suddenly falls in love for the first time in his 40s. I think actors in my age would express such emotions well,” Kim said.

He also revealed that he sees a psychiatrist after filming a movie or drama.

“Actors are psychologically affected after playing someone else’s life. I’ve been going through counseling for about two-and-a-half years now and I think it is not something to hide,” Kim said. “I might go see my shrink after shooting this drama, as Jang will be wounded by this love.”

Park, who successfully transformed into an actor from a pop idol through “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” last year, plays the role of Song Yu-hyeon, the heir of a famed resort company.

He said he related to his character’s personality. “Song is very gentle and has good manners. He is not arrogant like other rich people,” Park said. “This is first time for me to act in a drama set in modern times and it feels great to work with such great actors and actresses.”

Despite the burden of a sophomore complex, Park showed confidence in his character and the soap, emphasizing the classic, serious aspect of the drama.

Actress Kang Hae-jung takes the role of Na Hui-ju, a friend of Mi-ri from the orphanage. Her character work at the same hotel as Mi-ri, and risks danger if she reveals the truth about this Miss Ripley.

She has returned to the small screen after four years. “Na was not a big character at first, but she is growing up throughout the drama,” Kang said.

The drama kicks off next Monday at 9:55 p.m. on MBC.

110524 Photos Released Of Park Yoochun And Kang Hae Jung’s Happy Ballpark Date

Park Yoochun and Kang Hae Jung were out on a ballpark date.
In MBC’s new Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Miss Ripley’, which will begin airing on the 30th, Park Yoochun plays the handsome, skilled and rich Song Yoo Hyun while Kang Hae Jung plays the innocent and pure Na Hui Joo.

In the drama, Song Yoo Hyun and Na Hui Joo meet by chance at the a Hotel. When it is found that Na Hui Joo is the cousin of Song Yoo Hyun’s best friend, the two quickly become friends.

Na Hui Joo plans to bring Jang Miri (Lee Da Hae) and Song Yoo Hyun plans to bring Ha Cheol Jin (Lee Sang Yeob) to the ballpark to watch a baseball game but Jang Miri and Ha Cheol Jin cancel on the other two, leaving Song Yoo Hyun and Na Hui Joo alone to watch the game together.

The filming for this scene occurred during an actual game between the Nexon Heroes and the Kia Tigers. To capture Park Yoochun and Kang Hae Jung’s realistic enthusiasm, the filming went on till just before the start of the game. The two played out the perfect, happy ballpark date as they cheered for the Nexon Heroes with rod-shaped balloons.

It was later heard that as Park Yoochun and Kang Hae Jung both enjoy watching baseball games, they could not keep a smile off their faces as they were happy just being at a baseball stadium.

A representative of the production company stated, “We enlisted the help of cheerleaders on location to capture the lively and realistic enthusiasm of Park Yoochun and Kang Hae Jung for this scene,” and “Because the two like watching baseball games in general, they were able to perfectly portray two avid spectators.”
